This is a great book for people who like true stories – this is what really happened on the coast of New Jersey when a shark attacked several swimmers over the course of two weeks. These attacks are what the story of the movie JAWS is based on, and it’s chilling – innocents caught by a monstrous great white shark. You will learn all about sharks, shark hunting, and 1916 America. Not to be missed!!

Batman: The Long Halloween written by Jeph Loeb and penciled by Tim Sale, DC Comics- During the early years of the Batman, a killer name Holiday is murdering people on Holidays, one each month. Allied with Gotham’s DA Harvey Dent and Lieutenant James Gordon, Batman is in a race against the calendar to find out who Holiday is and prevent him from killing his next victim. The story also includes the events which will eventually turn Harvey Dent into one of Batman’s most famous villains, Two Face. Loeb’s writing is as good as a Batman story can get and he stays true to the characters, never veering off from their true personalities.*****

Stay is a great realistic fiction novel about a girl named Clara. The chapters alternate between what is happening to her now and what happened months before when she met her obsessive ex-boyfriend. After a few scary encounters with him when she tries to break it off, her father takes her away for the summer. There, she meets new friends, and a new potential love interest. I really enjoyed the strong characters in this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a suspenseful love story.****

Right before the summer before senior year, Hannah and her boyfriend Sebastian break up. While her best friend, Ava, goes away to work at sleep camp, Hannah gets a job with Ava’s boyfriend at the local diner to keep her mind off of him. Their friendship starts to become something more and Hannah has to admit to her best friend that she has betrayed her trust. Although Hannah did a really horrible thing to her best friend, you still can’t help but like her and feel her pain. This was a fantastic book and a great read for those lazy summer afternoons!*****
